Professional Profile:
Sherell N. McFarlane is a seasoned attorney with over nineteen years of legal experience in both the public and private sectors.  She is a former prosecutor, and an accomplished and respected litigator who has completed dozens of jury trials.  She is admitted to practice before the highest courts in the states of California, Hawaii and Washington.  She is also admitted to practice before the federal bar in each of these states.

Ms. McFarlane earned her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law (“NUSL”) in Boston, Massachusetts in 1992.  Throughout the course of her legal studies at NUSL she was a research assistant to an associate dean, a teaching assistant to first year law students in a legal research and writing course, and a clinical intern at a legal services center.  While still at NUSL she also completed four, three-month-long internships, one of which included a judicial internship with the Honorable Clifford Scott of the New York State Supreme Court.  Ms. McFarlane also holds a Certificate in Negotiation and Settlement Advocacy from Pepperdine University School of Law-Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution (2001).

Ms. McFarlane completed her undergraduate course work at St. Lawrence University (“SLU”) in Canton, New York and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing in 1989.  While at SLU she was selected to participate in the University’s Semester in London Program and she spent the fall semester of her junior year studying British government and history at the Polytechnic of Central London School of Law.  She was on the Dean’s List at SLU, and also received various awards, commendations and certificates for scholastic achievement and student leadership.

Practice Areas:
Ms. McFarlane practices in all areas of criminal law including assault and battery, burglary (and other theft related charges), domestic violence, drug possession offenses, DUI, DMV administrative hearings, elder abuse, gun charges, hit and run, license suspensions, probation violations, sex crimes and vehicular manslaughter.  She also practices in all areas of family law including dissolution, legal separation, child and spousal support, visitation and custody, and paternity/parentage.  Her practice includes a select number of civil and business law matters.
